Hi-Crush Inc. Announces Release of 2019 Corporate Responsibility Performance Summary
Company Significantly Improved Its Safety Record During 2019
Hi-Crush Inc. improved its safety performance in 2019 with significant declines in key reporting metrics. The company’s Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) for its combined oil and gas support services and mining operations was 1.3, while its Lost Time Incident Rate (LTIR) in 2019 was 0.43. These scores indicate Hi-Crush Inc. outperforms the weighted average scores for the non-metallic mining and oil and gas support activities sectors. Using Hi-Crush Inc.’s distribution of hours between those two sectors and the most recent sector-specific data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the industries’ weighted average TRIR was 1.55 and the weighted average LTIR was 0.63. “At Hi-Crush, the health and safety of our employees is our top priority,” said JP Srock, Vice President of Health and Safety for Hi-Crush. “The improvements in our scores reflect our leadership’s and employees’ unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and exceeding standards for safety and health performance.”
In other performance areas, Hi-Crush Inc. continues to excel and improve. The company’s 0.02 GHG emissions intensity (metric tons of GHG emissions per ton of sand sold) is the lowest of all other reporting companies in the industrial sand business. Hi-Crush Inc. also increased its percentage of minority workers in 2019.
